Our story

Curate on the Go began with a simple idea: you should be able to say what you need, and have someone find it, style it and deliver it.

Why we exist

People rarely lack ideas. What they lack is time, and a trusted hand to go out and source the right things. A celebration, an office, a set of gifts for a hundred staff: each one is a long list of small decisions, suppliers and deliveries. We take that list off your hands.

Sourcing and buying on your behalf is what we do best. We compare suppliers, negotiate, and style everything so it feels like one considered whole, not a pile of purchases.

How we work
  • We listen. You tell us the occasion, the date and the feeling you want.
  • We source. We find, compare and buy what is needed, and send an itemised quote before anything is committed.
  • We style and deliver. We bring it together, set it up and deliver it. Technical design work is carried out by qualified professionals we coordinate.
  • We keep it clear. Clear costs, receipts and honest communication, from first message to delivery.

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 25 October 2026

The short version
  • We confirm your order when you pay a 50% deposit. The full balance is paid before we deliver.
  • Pay only into the business account named on our invoice. We never ask for payment into a personal account.
  • We start sourcing and booking as soon as the deposit is paid, so cancelling later costs more. The scale is in section 9.
  • Custom, personalised and perishable items cannot be exchanged or returned unless they are faulty or not what we agreed.
  • Your rights under Nigerian consumer law are not affected by anything on this page.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are between you and Curate On The Go Enterprises ("Curate on the Go", "we", "us"), Lagos, Nigeria. They apply to every quote, booking and order for events, interiors, gifts and procurement, and to use of this website.

They apply when you pay a deposit, approve a quote in writing (including by WhatsApp or email), or tick the box on our quote form. If we agree something different with you in writing for a particular job, that written agreement applies to that job. Where a quote or invoice conflicts with these terms, the quote or invoice applies to that job.

"You" means the person or business placing the order. If you order for a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. Quotes

  • Quotes are itemised and priced in Naira.
  • A quote is valid for 7 days from the date on it, unless it says otherwise. Supplier prices in Nigeria can change quickly, so after that we may need to re-quote.
  • A quote is based on the information you gave us: date, place, guest numbers, quantities, budget and brief. If any of that changes, the price and timing may change.
  • Prices exclude VAT and other taxes unless the quote says they are included. We charge VAT where the law requires it and show it on the invoice.
  • If a supplier raises a price after you approve a quote, we tell you and get your written approval before spending more.
  • An enquiry, a request for a quote and a consultation call are not a booking. Nothing is held for you until the deposit is paid.

3. Booking and deposit

  • Your order is confirmed only when we have received your 50% deposit and sent you written confirmation.
  • The deposit lets us start: ordering items, paying suppliers, reserving vendors and holding your date. It is part payment of the price. It is not a separate fee.
  • Until the deposit is paid we cannot hold a date, an item, a vendor or a price.
  • Corporate clients: a signed purchase order or written approval from your authorised representative can confirm an order, but the deposit must still be paid before we start. We do not start work on the promise of a later payment unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. Payment

  • The balance of the full price must be paid in full before delivery, setup or handover. We may hold back delivery or setup until it is cleared in our account. Delays caused by late payment are not our responsibility.
  • For large or long jobs we may agree a staged schedule in writing (for example a further payment before major purchases). If we do, it is stated in your quote or invoice.
  • Pay only into the business account named on our invoice. We will never ask you to pay into a personal account or change account details by message. If you receive different details, call or message us on our known number before paying. We are not responsible for money paid to any other account.
  • Send proof of payment with the invoice number. Payment counts only when it has cleared in our account.
  • Payment is by bank transfer unless we agree another method. You bear any bank, transfer or card charges.
  • Late payment: if an invoice is not paid by its due date, we may charge 1% of the overdue amount for each week it stays unpaid, up to a total of 10% of the invoice. We may also pause work and any booked services until payment is made, and we may charge the reasonable costs of recovering the debt.
  • Withholding tax: if you are required to deduct withholding tax, you must tell us before the invoice is issued so it can be shown correctly. You must pay the deducted amount to the tax authority and give us the tax credit note or receipt promptly. If you do not, you remain liable to us for the amount withheld.
  • Payments are not refunded except as set out in sections 9 to 12 and in section 18.

5. What we do, and what we need from you

  • We source, style, coordinate and deliver what is in your approved quote, with reasonable care and skill.
  • You agree to give us accurate information, answer questions and approve choices on time, give access to the venue or space at the agreed times, and arrange any permits, approvals or building permissions needed.
  • If you are late with information, approvals, access or payment, the timeline moves. We do not guarantee the original date, and we may charge extra for rush work or changed bookings caused by the delay.
  • If you supply items, designs, content or vendors, you are responsible for their quality, safety, fit and legality. We are not responsible for problems they cause.
  • A concept, mood board or sample is a guide. Handmade, natural and sourced items can vary slightly in colour, size and finish from images.

6. Changes to an order

  • Ask for changes in writing. We confirm any effect on price and timing before going ahead. A change is not agreed until we confirm it.
  • Design work in a quote includes up to two rounds of changes to a concept. More rounds, or a completely new direction, are charged.
  • Changes to guest numbers, quantities, venue or date inside the last 7 days before delivery or the event may not be possible. If we can do them, they may cost extra.
  • Anything already ordered, produced or paid for on your approval is charged to you if you change it.

7. Postponement

  • You may ask to move a date once, free of charge, if you ask at least 14 days before the date and we are available and our vendors can move. We confirm in writing.
  • If we cannot move it, or you ask later than 14 days before, or more than once, the cancellation scale in section 9 applies unless we agree otherwise.
  • Where we agree to a new date, extra costs from the move (vendor fees, price changes, rush costs) are yours. Your deposit carries across to the new date for up to 90 days.

8. Delivery, setup and acceptance

  • Delivery dates are estimates unless we confirm a fixed time in writing. We tell you promptly if there is a delay we expect.
  • Someone must be present to receive deliveries and sign for them. If nobody is, you pay for any re-delivery or storage.
  • Please check everything on delivery or at handover. Tell us in writing, with photos, within 48 hours about any damage, fault, shortage or item not as approved. This helps us act quickly, and we can sort out problems far more easily when they are reported early.
  • If you do not report a problem within 48 hours, and the work or goods match what you approved, we treat them as accepted. This does not affect any legal right that cannot be waived (section 18).
  • Risk in goods passes to you on delivery. Goods stay our property until paid for in full.
  • Where takedown or collection is included, it happens at the time agreed. Extra hours or repeat visits are charged.

9. Cancelling an order

You may cancel at any time by telling us in writing. When you cancel, you pay for the work already done and for the costs we cannot recover, plus a cancellation fee, as set out below. We never keep more than the total price of your order.

Step 1. Costs already incurred. We deduct what we have already spent or committed on your order and cannot get back. This includes items bought, supplier and vendor deposits, custom or personalised work started, design time spent, deliveries made and non-refundable bookings. We show you receipts or invoices on request.

Step 2. Cancellation fee. This covers the date and capacity we held for you, and the other work we turned down. It is a share of the quote price, based on how much notice you give before the event or delivery date:

  • 30 days or more: 10%
  • 15 to 29 days: 25%
  • 7 to 14 days: 50%
  • Less than 7 days: 100% of the quote price

The fee is an honest estimate of the loss we suffer when a date or slot is cancelled late, because it is harder to fill at short notice. It is not a penalty.

Step 3. Refund. We apply your deposit and any other payments to the costs and fee above. If you paid more than that, we refund the difference. If the costs and fee are more than you paid, you pay the difference.

  • If part of what we ordered can be returned to the supplier or reused for another job, we credit its value back to you after any restocking or handling charge.
  • No cancellation fee applies if you cannot go ahead because the person the booking was made for has died or has been admitted to hospital. You still cover costs already incurred that we cannot recover. We may ask for reasonable proof.
  • Custom, personalised, branded and special-order items cannot be cancelled once ordered. Their cost is part of Step 1.
  • If you stop responding for 14 days or more and we cannot reach you after reasonable attempts, we may treat the order as cancelled by you.

10. If we cancel or cannot deliver

  • If we cancel, or cannot deliver something you ordered for reasons within our control, we refund what you paid for what we did not deliver, within 14 working days.
  • If an approved item is unavailable, we suggest a substitute of similar kind and quality. We do not substitute without your approval. If you do not accept the substitute, we refund that item.
  • If we cannot deliver for reasons outside our control (section 16), we agree a fair way forward with you. This may be a new date, a substitute, or a refund of the undelivered part.

11. Exchanges

  • Standard, in-stock gift items and products we bought for you may be exchanged for another item if you tell us within 48 hours of delivery, the item is unused and in its original packaging, and you have your proof of payment.
  • If the new item costs more, you pay the difference before we send it. If it costs less, we credit the difference to future orders.
  • Delivery for an exchange is at your cost, unless the item was faulty or not what we agreed.
  • We cannot exchange custom, personalised, branded, made-to-order, perishable, seasonal, opened or used items, or items that were special-ordered for you, unless they are faulty or not what we agreed.
  • Décor, hire and styling services cannot be exchanged. If a styled element is not what was approved, we fix it under section 12.

12. Faults, mistakes and refunds

  • If goods are faulty, damaged on arrival, or not what we agreed, we repair, replace or refund, whichever is appropriate. If a service falls short of what we agreed, we put it right or refund a fair part of the price for the part that fell short.
  • We do not give refunds because you changed your mind, or because the item or design is what you approved but you now prefer something else. Section 11 explains what exchange options exist, and section 9 explains cancellation.
  • Refunds are paid by the same method as your payment, within 14 working days of us agreeing the refund. If we paid a supplier and the supplier's own refund takes longer, we tell you, and the timing depends on the supplier.
  • Our liability for goods and services is limited to repair, replacement or a refund of what you paid for the affected part, subject to section 14.

13. Vendors and subcontractors

  • We work with vendors and specialists such as installers, florists, caterers, printers, designers and delivery crews. We choose, brief and manage them.
  • Technical design, structural, electrical and similar work is done by suitably qualified professionals we coordinate. We do not carry it out ourselves.
  • We pass on supplier and manufacturer warranties where they exist.
  • If you instruct us to use a vendor you chose, you are responsible for that vendor's performance.

14. Our responsibility

  • We take reasonable care to deliver what we have agreed.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost business or opportunity, or loss of reputation.
  • Our total liability for any one job is limited to the amount you paid us for it.
  • For events, you are responsible for your guests, their conduct, and their property. We are not responsible for injury to guests or loss or damage to their belongings, unless caused by our fault.
  • You are responsible for loss of or damage to items once they are with you or at your venue, other than through our fault. If damage is caused by you, your guests or your venue, you pay the cost of repair or replacement.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15. Respect and conduct

  • We work with courtesy and expect the same. We may pause or end a job, and keep payment for work done and costs incurred, if you or anyone acting for you abuses, threatens, harasses or discriminates against our team or vendors, or asks them to do something unsafe or unlawful.
  • If we end a job for this reason, section 9 applies as if you had cancelled on that date, and we are not liable for any loss that results.
  • We may refuse a booking or end a relationship where we reasonably believe there is fraud, a payment risk or a safety concern.
  • Please raise a concern with us directly first. We will always try to put a genuine mistake right. We ask that complaints are made to us, in writing, so we can respond properly.

16. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as severe weather, flooding, power or network failure, fuel shortages, strikes, civil disturbance, government orders or restrictions, road closures, supplier shortages or sudden currency shifts. We tell you promptly and agree a fair way forward with you. This may include a new date, a substitute, or a refund of the part we could not deliver. Costs already incurred and not recoverable are dealt with under section 9, Step 1.

17. Our work, photos and your content

  • Our concepts, mood boards, proposals, drawings and designs are ours until you have paid in full. You may not copy them, or give them to another supplier to reproduce, without our written permission. After full payment, you may use the finished work for the purpose it was made for.
  • The Curate on the Go name, logo and brand belong to us.
  • We may photograph or film our work and share it on our website and social media, with your name or brand left out unless you agree otherwise. If you want your job kept private, tell us in writing before the job starts and we will not publish it.
  • If you give us logos, text, images or other material, you confirm you have the right to use them and that they do not break anyone else's rights. You are responsible for any claim that arises from them.

18. Your consumer rights

If you are a consumer, you have rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, including rights to goods and services of the expected quality and as described, and to fair terms. Nothing in these terms removes or limits those rights. If any part of these terms is not allowed by that law, that part does not apply to you and the rest still does.

19. Your information

How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy notice.

20. Communication

  • We communicate by WhatsApp, email and phone. Messages sent this way count as written communication, and approvals by these means count as written approval.
  • Our confirmed quote, invoices and written confirmations are the record of what was agreed. Please check each one when you receive it and tell us promptly if anything is wrong.
  • Keep our messages. We keep records of what was agreed, and we may rely on them if there is a disagreement.

21. Complaints and disputes

  • If something goes wrong, tell us in writing straight away. We acknowledge it within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
  • If we cannot agree, we ask that both sides first try mediation before starting a court case. Nothing stops either side from seeking urgent relief from a court or from taking a matter to a consumer protection authority.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.

22. General

  • Whole agreement. Your quote, invoice, written confirmations and these terms are the whole agreement for the job. Promises made verbally or by a person outside our team that are not written down do not bind us.
  • If a part is invalid. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term on one occasion, that does not mean we have given it up.
  • No transfer. You may not transfer your order to someone else without our written agreement.
  • Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. The version that applies to your job is the one in force when you paid your deposit or approved your quote.

8. Cookies and similar storage

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. To make the site work, your browser keeps two small items: a note that the opening animation has played, and a saved draft of your quote form so you do not lose it if you leave the page. These stay on your device and are not sent to us. You can clear them in your browser settings. If we add analytics later, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.
